Ceramic Crowns

Dental porcelain can be sculpted to closely replicate the look of natural tooth enamel, while providing desirable strength and resilience. Porcelain crowns are an excellent choice when recreating the form and function of a damaged tooth, because a crown basically replaces the entire external portion of the tooth down to the gum level. Crowns are not limited to simply replacing the original tooth, but can be designed to create an even better esthetic appearance.

Invisalign

Drs. Ellis and Mefford are proud to be certified Invisalign (www.Invisalign.com) providers. We feel that this is a very important service to offer due to the demand by many of our patients to improve the alignment of their teeth. Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners that are custom-molded to fit you. The virtually invisible aligners gradually reposition your teeth into a smile you’ll be proud of. Teeth that are crowded or too widely spaced can create unhealthy conditions, including swollen gums, redness and pocketing, all of which are signs of periodontal disease. As Invisalign invisibly straightens your teeth, it can also do great things for the health of your mouth. Unlike traditional orthodontics or braces, Invisalign has no metal bands or wires to trap food and plaque. Maintaining a good oral hygiene program will also reduce chances of plaque buildup, tooth decay and periodontal disease. We are happy to schedule consultation appointments to determine if you might be a candidate for Invisalign. Let us know how we can help!

Tooth Whitening

Our office offers take home bleaching in both the tray system and professional whitening strips. With the tray system, we first make a quick and easy impression of your teeth, which we use to create the custom fitting bleaching trays. The material is worn inside the trays either overnight or as two separate one-hour periods each day for 10 to 21 days. The material most commonly used is a 10-22% carbamide peroxide. A special fluoride toothpaste is provided to aid in reducing any sensitivity that might occur with the procedure. Our materials have the ADA Seal of Acceptance. Ask one of our staff about this exciting and easy way to brighten your smile.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers are precisely fabricated thin coverings that are placed on the front (visible) part of the teeth. The procedure is highly effective in correcting several different dental concerns. Chipped, misaligned, and discolored teeth can be made beautiful with this relatively simple and comfortable procedure. Even teeth with spaces between them can appear ideal with porcelain veneers. The procedure is accomplished over two appointments. On the first visit, with mild dental anesthesia, the teeth are slightly prepared with a minimum of tooth reduction. An impression of the teeth is taken and temporaries are fabricated based on a replica of the final restorations. This enables the patient to immediately see the shape and contour of the permanent veneers. In approximately 10 days the patient returns for the veneers to be bonded to the teeth. The use of advanced adhesive techniques create both a stunning and strong restoration. Our veneers are created by very highly skilled technicians in one of several laboratories across the country.

Dental Implants

Dental implants can be used for a variety of dental problems. Whether you are missing one, several, or all of your teeth, dental implants may be the answer for your restorative needs. Implants are highly predictable and provide a sturdy replacement for missing teeth. If you are missing a single tooth, an implant can be placed to provide a platform for a permanent single tooth restoration. This allows the adjacent teeth to be preserved and eliminates the need of a traditional bridge. If you have an ill-fitting denture or partial, an implant may provide the added support needed to stabilize the prosthesis and add a tremendous level of comfort while chewing. We utilize either an oral surgeon or periodontist to place the first stage of the implant. This is the part that actually integrates into the bone. Once the first stage has become one with the bone, usually 3-4 months, we provide all the treatment necessary to restore the implant. Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth. No one will ever know you have a replacement tooth.

White Fillings, Inlays and Onlays

We essentially practice an amalgam free style of restorative dentistry. Based on your need, one of several tooth colored restoratives may be recommended. Both composite fillings, inlays and onlays provide beautiful restorations. Composite fillings are achieved in one visit. Following precise adhesive techniques, the restoration is created to look just like your tooth. Inlays and onlays are made of either ceramic or resin material and done over two appointments. Our highly trained labratory skillfully crafts the restoration and upon your return visit, it is bonded in place. No longer do you have to settle for dark or silver colored fillings. With these new materials, you can smile with confidence and style.
